ISLAMABAD: The Establishment Division with the support of audit and finance officials got cleared 116 out of 129 audit objections during meetings of the Departmental Audit Committee (DAC), hence leaving only 13 paras for perusal of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC).
According to the documents available with
Dawn, during an internal audit of the accounts of the Establishment Division for the year 2019-20, the auditors have raised 129 audit objections of multi-billion rupees irregularities in the financial affairs of the division.
These audit paras related to unjustified pay and allowances to re-instate sacked employees, their posting to various departments, unauthorised grants of honorarium, irregular expenditure on entertainment, unauthorised payment of inadmissible allowance, unauthorised use of 1800cc cars, overpayment of additional charge, unauthorised payment of late sitting allowance, overpayment of deputation allowance, less deduction of income tax, irregu

Punjab Police went through a massive reshuffle during 2020 as hundreds of policemen from the rank of Inspector General of Police to constable rank were transferred or surrendered before the Establishment Division.
A few of the notable transfers included former IGP Shoib Dastaghir, former CCPO BA Nasir, former CCPO Zulfiqar Hameed, DIG Shehzada Sultan, SSP Liaqat Malik, SSP Zeeshan Asghar, SP Asim Iftikhar, SP Anoush Masood Chaudhry.
The first major reshuffle in 2020 was made on April 14. At least six additional inspector generals (add IGs), two Regional Police Officers (RPOs), 13 deputy inspector generals (DIGs) and two senior superintendents of police (SSPs) were transferred and posted. LAHORE: The tussle between SP (Investigations Cantt) Anoush Masood Chaudhry and her immediate boss SSP Investigations Abdul Ghaffar Qaisrani has not only exposed the poor command of CCPO Lahore Umar Sheikh but also the most trumpeted slogan of police reforms.
The language used by the said SP in a reply to a letter of advice, written by SSP Investigations, is too harsh and straight in terms of protocols of a disciplined force.
On Dec 5, the SSP Investigations had written a letter of advice to SP Anoush, highlighting her lack of interest in performing official duties. He advised her to improve her performance. The letter, a copy of which is available with The News, reads: “Cantt Division is an important and challenging division for policing. Hence, to gain quality performance, it requires proper hands-on supervision.
