It doesn’t get much closer to home than Quinnipiac’s women’s basketball team.

East Haven’s Makenzie Helms has decided to transfer from Nebraska.
In a post on social media Helms said she wants to find an opportunity to play closer to home.
“I am extremely grateful for my time as a Husker and the opportunity to be a part of the program has been a blessing,” Helms posted. “Nebraska will always hold a special place in my heart. I have grown so much in my time there and will forever be thankful for the love and support shown by Husker Nation. I am lucky to have a place that makes saying goodbye so hard.
