THUNDER BAY - An outbreak of COVID-19 at the Brain Injury Services of Northern Ontario has been declared over, according to the Thunder Bay District Health Unit.
The outbreak was declared in early January after a staff member with the organization tested positive for COVID-19.
BISNO provides supports and services including supportive housing and rehabilitation services to individuals who have suffered a brain injury. It is a self-contained home located on the sixth floor of the McKellar Place Senior Living building.
Measures were put in place to prevent the spread of COVID-19, including BISNO staff continuing to use a private entrance, assigning the north elevator to only BISNO staff, no entry to the sixth floor by McKellar Place staff or residents, increased disinfecting of all common spaces, masks being worn by all residents and staff, screening of all essential s
