Tuesday, May 11, 2021 With the global gaming industry valued at USD 159 billion in 2020 and expected to grow in 2021, The University of the West Indies, Five Islands Campus will explore the business of e-Sports in the next edition of its Public Advocacy Series. The May virtual event, which takes place on Monday May 17, will feature two international industry leaders, Dr. Melita Moore and Mr. Eric Elder.    Dr. Melita Moore is a quadruple board certified physician and an international leader on health and wellness for gamers in the field of eSports Medicine. She is the CEO/Founder of Levels Unlocked Enterprises, a brand, marketing and communications firm focused on esports, sports and health.

The best universities are ranked using “Impact” as the criterion for measuring their performance excellence. Blue Economy accord signed to propel emerging sector Article by January 23, 2021 The Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda Gaston Browne, Vice-Chancellor of The University of the West Indies (The UWI) Professor Sir Hilary Beckles and Chair of the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU) Professor Sir Ed Byrne AC, on Tuesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to formalise their collaboration in support of a Centre for Excellence for Oceanography and the Blue Economy at The University of the West Indies Five Islands Campus. The Centre will aim to advance intellectual progress and strengthen institutional capacity in the areas of marine science and the blue economy while benefitting from the societal, economic and environmental opportunities for the Caribbean within this emerging sector.
