While Portland reached a record temperature of over 110 degrees Sunday afternoon, people gathered at Keller Fountain Park to take a dip and cool off.
“When will this be over?” was the question likely on every Portlander’s mind Monday as temperature records fell for a third-straight day.
The historic heat wave overwhelming the region led to all-time high temperatures records falling across the state over the weekend and on Monday.
Portland hit 115 degrees Monday afternoon, setting a new record high temperature for the third day in a row, according to the National Weather Service. Before the weekend, Portland’s record high temperature was 107, first set in 1965. ....

Portland again reached a new record temperature late Sunday afternoon, hitting 112 degrees and breaking the previous records set earlier Sunday and Saturday, the National Weather Service announced on Twitter.
The high temperature for Portland International Airport reached 108 degrees Saturday, surpassing the city’s all-time record of 107, first set in 1965. By 2:20 p.m. Sunday afternoon, Portland had surpassed that record by three degrees. The record now stands at 112 as of 5 p.m. Sunday. ....
