MANKATO, Minn. (KEYC) - Minnesota State University Mankato announces it is planning for a normal Fall semester for 2021.
President Richard Davenport says students can expect to find their professors and instructors in the classroom and will be able to enjoy campus activities, including athletics, concerts, lectures, intramurals, and homecoming. Online courses will still be available for those wanting a distance option.

Weems is not alone among Minnesota athletic directors in her joy. Counterparts Kevin Buisman at Minnesota State Mankato and Josh Berlo at Minnesota Duluth also saw their teams earn spots on college hockey s biggest stage, the Frozen Four.

New leaders were named Wednesday for Minnesota s second largest public university and a St. Paul community college.
The Minnesota State college system s board of trustees named Edward Inch president of Minnesota State University, Mankato and Deidra Peaslee president of St. Paul College.
Inch has served as provost and vice president for academic affairs at California State University, East Bay, since 2016; he focused on improving academic outcomes and closing equity gaps and developed a strategic enrollment management plan for the university.

MANKATO, Minn. (KEYC) - Five finalists are named in the search for Minnesota State University, Mankatoâs 13th president.
The chosen candidate will replace current President Richard Davenport, who will retire this spring after 19 years in the position. The candidates are Sandra Haynes, Edward Inch, John Jasinski, Debra Larson, and Mrinal Varma. All five have experience as a chancellor, provost, or president on a college campus. The candidates are scheduled to conduct virtual campus visits next week. The Board of Trustees is expected to consider a recommendation at its March 17 meeting. The new president will start their new role July 1.
