EOC STATEMENT ON PROTECTION OF EUROPEAN SPORTS MODEL IN WAKE OF PROPOSED EUROPEAN SUPER LEAGUE 04/20/21
The Executive Committee of the European Olympic Committees (EOC), which met virtually today, stands in solidarity with the International Olympic Committee (IOC), UEFA, and other proponents of the European Sports Model in condemning the recent proposal by leading European football clubs to create a new European Super League.
As IOC President Thomas Bach correctly stated today, the purely profit-oriented goals of commercial sport providers and investors completely ignore the intrinsic values and the social mission of sport. If lost, this would have catastrophic consequences for the structures that underpin sport in Europe.
EOC TAPS ITA TO OVERSEE ANTI-DOPING PROGRAMMES AT EUROPEAN GAMES, EYOFS 04/01/21
The European Olympic Committees (EOC) is pleased to announce that it has named the International Testing Agency (ITA) as an independent partner for the implementation of anti-doping programmes at future events, including the European Games and European Youth Olympic Festivals (EYOF).
Effective immediately, the ITA will plan, manage and implement the entire anti-doping programme at the multi-sports events for Europe’s top athletes. The next edition of the European Games is scheduled for 2023 in Krakow and Malopolska in Poland, while the next EYOF (winter) is set to take place this December in Vuokatti, Finland.

The sports programme for the 3rd European Games in Kraków-MaÅ‚opolska is taking shape rapidly, with boxing and shooting becoming the latest Olympic sports to sign on for Europe’s leading multi-sports event for elite athletes in 2023.
The European Olympic Committees (EOC) reached agreements with the European Shooting Confederation (ESC) and European Boxing Confederation (EUBC) this week, making boxing and shooting the seventh and eighth sports included on the programme since December 2020.
