Wickham Park reopened to the public Friday afternoon after local fire crews worked to put out a fire that began Thursday evening.
The Brevard County Parks and Recreation Department released a statement Friday afternoon about 4:20 p.m. saying the Melbourne Fire Department had finished putting out the 12-acre brush fire and the park would reopen
to the public.
They added that park rangers would keep an eye on the situation in case of any new fires or flare ups in the burn area, and that they would be placing caution tape around the area where the fire raged
