Glace Bay Man s Death Ruled a Homicide » The Coast 89 7 FM

Regional Police say the death of a Glace Bay man earlier this month has been ruled a homicide. Police say 51 year-old David Sheppard was assaulted in his home on Brookland Street on January 18 th. He was brought to the Regional Hospital in Sydney before being flown to hospital in Halifax where he died earlier this week. Police say the case was ruled a homicide following an autopsy by the Medical Examiner. No arrests have been made in the case. Police are calling the attack an isolated incident. Glace Bay man, 51, suffers head injuries in attack in his home

Posted: Jan 19, 2021 5:11 PM AT | Last Updated: January 19 Cape Breton Regional Police are investigating an assault in Glace Bay.(George Mortimer/CBC) A Glace Bay man has been airlifted to hospital in Halifax with head injuries after he was assaulted in his home on Monday night. A news release from Cape Breton Regional Police said officers responded at 11:30 p.m. to a report that a man had entered a home on Brookland Street and assaulted a 51-year-old male. The man then ran off, police say. The victim sustained head injuries and was taken to Cape Breton Regional Hospital before being airlifted to Halifax.
