Burlington County organizations receive COVID-19 relief  The Princeton Area Community Foundation (PACF) awarded over $2 million to more than 50 local nonprofits in its second phase of COVID-19 Relief & Recovery Grant funding activities. Thanks to the philanthropic spirit of the community, and donor contributions, PACF awarded grants to organizations focused on immediate needs such as food insecurity, healthcare, housing, mental health, and other social service needs, as well as helping children in the region continue educational activities and reduce learning loss, according to information provided by PACF. In addition to the grants focusing on immediate needs, more than a dozen nonprofits received organizational capacity-building grants for work aligned with nonprofit recovery and rebuilding.

Opinion: Starry Starry Evening was a success for Princeton Nursery School   On Feb. 6, members of our community came together for a virtual fundraiser to support the Princeton Nursery School (PNS). A Starry Starry Evening included an informative and lively discussion between CNBC’s Brian Sullivan and the school’s executive director, Rosanda Wong, detailing the nonprofit’s mission and the challenges it and its families continue to face due to the pandemic. In addition, attendees were treated to a soulful, live performance by singer/songwriter and Princeton native Carly King. The event raised much-needed funds to benefit the nationally accredited early education program and hunger prevention program at PNS and also to provide scholarships for children of families in need.

Princeton Nursery School hosts third annual Starry Starry Evening event Princeton Nursery School hosts third annual Starry Starry Evening event Princeton Nursery School (PNS) will hold its third annual Starry Starry Evening event on Feb. 6. The virtual event from 7-8:10 pm. will feature CNBC’s Brian Sullivan as host and singer/songwriter Carly King, who is a Princeton native. According to the school, the non-profit preschool, founded in 1929, provides year-round preschool and comprehensive support for children ages 2-and-a-half to 6 of working parents in the Mercer County area. The school offers high-quality education for its students and their families, most of whom fall beneath the federal poverty line.
