Edward, 57, is the youngest of the Queen and Philip’s children, and is said to have “built a strong relationship” with his parents. Journalist Ayesha Hazarika appeared on the Channel 5 documentary Edward & Sophie: The Reluctant Royals?’ and explained how Edward is the “baby” of the Queen’s four children.

Sophie, Countess of Wessex has stepped up and proved her resilience this past week, undertaking several royal engagements. As well as celebrating her husband Prince Edward’s 57th birthday, Sophie volunteered to help nurses, helped provide food for homeless people and virtually opened a new unit at Leeds Teaching Hospitals.

He added: During the pandemic, they have been active, singly and jointly, in supporting organisations involved in the crisis.
Since Prince Philip s retirement from public life in 2017, Edward has been tasked with continuing his legacy of royal work.
Not only is the Earl in charge of continuing Philip s iconic Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme but he is also expected to inherit his father s title.
This means Edward and Sophie will become the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh when Prince Philip, 99, dies.

The Monarch and Prince Philip’s youngest child likes to call bacon sandwiches “Balmoral Butties”, according to Scottish paper The Sunday Post. The name could be a reference to the Royal Family’s holiday home, Balmoral Castle, which is located in Aberdeenshire, Scotland.

Prince Edward, 56, is Prince Philip, 99, and Queen Elizabeth II s, 94, youngest child and a key working member of the monarchy. As well as providing vital support to the Crown, the Earl of Wessex is in charge of the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme (DofE) - a successful youth project established by his father in 1956.
