The sign was found on a bridge on the Muskoday First Nation and says in part: “White lives matter too… who else is gonna work and pay taxes.” Ava Bear, the chief of Muskoday First Nation, called the poster disturbing and said it feeds into misconceptions. “It’s very saddening and I think more than anything, this individual needs our prayers to come around and try to understand.” Over the last few weeks, hundreds of unmarked graves have been found at former residential school sites across Canada.

9 new COVID-19 deaths in Sask ; 277 new cases reported

  REGINA Saskatchewan reported nine more people have died in the province, after testing positive for COVID-19. There were 277 new cases reported on Wednesday, leaving 2,893 cases active. On Wednesday, the province reported 439 new recoveries. The latest individuals to die after testing positive from the virus were located in: Central West (Person in their 60s) Southeast (Two people over 80) Regina (Three people; two over 80 and one in their 20s) North Central (Person over 80) Saskatoon (One person in their 60s, another in their 50s) There are 172 Saskatchewan residents in hospital; 143 in inpatient care and 29 in intensive care. Saskatchewan processed 2,094 COVID-19 tests on Tuesday.

RCMP searching for 2 suspects after stabbing on Sturgeon Lake First Nation

Welsey Naytowhow (Submitted/RCMP) Police are looking for two suspects after a man was stabbed at a home on the Sturgeon Lake First Nation, north of Prince Albert Wednesday afternoon. In a media release, Prince Albert RCMP said they attended the residence along with members of the Prince Albert Crime Reduction Team and RCMP Police Dog Services. The initial investigation indicates a 39-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman first arrived at the home in a white Chevrolet Monte Carlo. The man entered the home and assaulted the victim while the female waited in the vehicle. After the assault, the male suspect stole the victim’s vehicle a white Chevrolet Impala with Saskatchewan plate 568 LNW. He fled the scene. The woman followed in the Monte Carlo.
