State data posted Thursday shows 2,158 hospitalized patients with confirmed or suspected coronavirus down 48% from April 14, when 4,187 beds held virus victims. Intensive care units, which had 864 Covid cases in mid-April, were treating 613 as of Thursday afternoon s tally from the Department of Health and Human Services. That s a 29% drop. Deadline Detroit compared figures for April 14 with the latest update. Weekly data shows the number of in-patients with confirmed or suspected Covid, the number in intensive care and overall bed occupancy rates at every Michigan hospital.

In Clinton Township, Henry Ford Macomb was 98% full (361 beds). Statewide, 85% of adult intensive care beds were occupied Wednesday, including by 864 patients with confirmed or suspected Covid-19, according to the Department of Health and Human Services daily capacity report. More than half the Covid victims in ICUs 470 were on ventilators.
