The No. 5-seeded Nevada Wolf Pack take on No. 4 Boise State in the quarterfinals of the Mountain West Tournament Thursday at 2:30 p.m. PST on CBS Sports Network. It will be the first tournament game for both teams, who earned a first-round bye.
The Pack enter the game at 15-9 and 10-7 in conference play, while Boise State is 18-7 and 14-6 in Mountain West action.
Nevada swept the Broncos in its two meetings on Feb. 5-7. It won its two contests by 2-and-11 points. The former featured a game-winning fadeaway from guard Grant Sherfield in the waning seconds.

In a chaotic showdown between two top-five teams in the Mountain West which featured the two trading blows plus a lot of intermixed whistles, Nevada star guard Grant Sherfield knocked down an absurd step-back game-winning 3-pointer to knock off the Colorado State Rams 85-82 Friday evening in Reno, Nev.
The contest was tied at 82 with under a minute remaining. In an attempt to take the lead, Colorado State’s David Roddy got stripped by Warren Washington.
Sherfield corralled the ball and dribbled it up the floor, knocking down a step-back 3-pointer with under a second remaining to award the Pack the 85-82 lead.

Grant Sherfield’s game-winning fadeaway with 2.9 seconds to go gave the Nevada Wolf Pack a 74-72 victory over the Boise State Broncos, handing them their third loss of the season Friday.
Nevada trailed for most of the second half, but the deficit never fell above six points. Its first lead of the half came with 55 seconds to go after Sherfield’s floater.
Rayj Dennis tied it at 72 with 31 seconds remaining, prompting the Pack to call its second-to-last timeout. Sherfield got to his spot on the Spain pick-and-roll action, netting a Michael Jordan-esque fadeaway with under three seconds to go.
