The highest concentration of Multnomah County heatwave victims died in the ZIP code encompassing the Lents neighborhood in Southeast Portland, according to information released Saturday.
People died of the heat in over 20 of the county’s 33 ZIP codes, officials said. No more than five deaths were reported in a single ZIP code.
While officials did not release data detailing the specific locations of each death, they disseminated a map showing the largest concentration of fatalities occurred in Southeast Portland’s 97266 ZIP code.
