As of 6 a.m. we’ve had more than 16,000 votes for 130-plus restaurants that were nominated in 11 regions from all parts of the state. That doesn’t mean outdoor dining will end any time soon. Igloos, shanties and other patio dining set ups will remain open to help these restaurants survive. Pro tip: Many of these establishments require reservations more than a week in advance. Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, so plan accordingly.

On Wednesday morning we posted the leaders in our 11 regional polls all across the state. Throughout the day, not much changed. RELATED: The biggest development happened in the Flint area where Barley & Vine overtook Frankenmuth’s Prost! Wine Bar & Charcuterie in the top spot. And Lake Inn in Lapeer jumped to No. 2 in the same poll. The rest of the regional poll leaders remained the same.

The Ice Globe is decorated with white faux fur pelts on the chairs and a ice glacier looking chandelier. Thanks to everyone who voted for their favorite restaurants in Michigan. Trust me, they appreciate it. We talked to several restaurant owners, as well as employees, over the last few days who are thrilled for the recognition as they battle months of business loss because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
