FARMINGTON Police said Monday the local Walmart store on Wilton Road was evacuated after a bomb threat.
Store staff and customers were ushered out of the store after police received a threat about 12:30 p.m., which turned out to be false.
The Maine State Police Bomb Detection K-9 teams arrived at the store along with members of the Maine State Police Bomb Team, who assisted with the investigation, according to a media statement from Police Chief Kenneth Charles.
“No suspicious items were located,” Charles wrote in his statement. “The source of the threat remains under investigation.”
In addition to state law enforcement, Farmington Police Department, Franklin County Sheriff’s Department, Farmington Fire Department and NorthStar Ambulance responded to the scene.
