The kick off features a variety of events such as a live music, marshmallow and bonfire event at Port Austin Village Green May 21; a walk-a-thon, farmers market opening, cornhole tournament and white out party at Lake Street Local May 22; and sales and specials throughout the business community all weekend.

It’s Caseville, and it’s the winner of Michigan’s Best Vacation Spot in Bay City & Thumb area of Michigan by MLive readers. Known for the annual Cheeseburger in Caseville Festival each August, the tiny town of about 700 people received 22.54 percent of the vote, beating nearby Port Austin by only four votes. Bay City finished in third, but only nine votes off the top spot.
