A MENDIP market is relocating while regeneration work takes place in the town. Traders at the Shepton Mallet Friday Market will set up their stalls at Great Ostry Car Park from March 19 for 14 weeks. The market will still run from 9am until 2pm, but there will be no market on April 2 (Good Friday). Resurfacing work is taking place on Shepton s Market Place thanks to the town improvement scheme, which is being jointly funded by Shepton Mallet Town Council (SMTC), Mendip District Council (MDC) and Somerset County Council (SCC). “I am delighted that by working with the community, traders and SMTC, we have found a way to continue the Shepton Mallet Friday Market during these important works for the town , said Deputy Leader of MDC, and Portfolio Holder for Neighbourhood Services, Cllr Josh Burr.
