Alanis Morissette Posts New Song I Miss The Band Friday, 16 April 2021
Alanis Morissette has shared a new song, I Miss The Band.
The yearning piano-based track marks the singer-songwriter s first new music since her 2020 album, Such Pretty Forks In The Road , her first studio full-length in eight years, following 2012 s Havoc And Bright Lights .
Proceeds from the single will go to Backline, an organisation that connects music industry professionals with trusted mental health resources. Morissette wrote on her YouTube channel: Backline provides a safe, private, and immediate place to go for help. Available for free to artists, managers, agents, crew, producers, labels, and their families, Backline programs offer case management, support groups, and wellness programs to meet the needs of this unique community.
Eris Drew has shared a remix of Alanis Morissette’s ‘Reckoning’, making a surprising appearance on Morissette’s ‘Such Pretty Forks In The Mix Alanis’ EP.
From the Canadian artist s ninth studio album released in July, ‘Such Pretty Forks In The Road’, the remix EP also includes re-imagined tracks from MNDR, MUNA, and Girlpool.
Drew’s version of ‘Reckoning’ is a fierce seven-minute-long cut with tangles of Morissette’s ghostly vocals. Speaking in a tweet, Drew said: “It was wild to wake-up a few months ago to an email asking me to remix a powerful song by Alanis Morissette. My version is a windy 152 BPM interpretation, which I hope honors the intensity of the original song.”
