KUCHING, Jan 21: Two individuals, including a policeman with two previous drug offences, were arrested here last Tuesday for possessing syabu and ecstasy powder worth RM139,270. Sarawak Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department, in a statement today, said the 39-year-old police personnel was arrested at the registration counter of a service apartment in Jalan Datuk Tawi Sli here. “During the raid, the suspect was found holding a brown box while the second suspect, aged 42, was outside the registration counter. The second suspect tried to escape to a vehicle at the side of the building but was caught,” it said.

Policemen gets 10 days jail, fined RM5,000 for accepting bribe 11 Jan 2021 / 14:25 H. SHAH ALAM, Jan 11: Two policemen with the rank of lance corporal and constable were sentenced to 10 days’ jail and fined RM5,000 each by the Shah Alam Sessions Court today after pleading guilty to an optional charge of accepting a bribe from a Thai man in Dec 2019. Judge Rozilah Salleh also ordered both the accused, Lance Corporal Shaiful Rizal Osman, 36, and Constable Muhammad Zuhair Mazlan, 28, from the Narcotics Division of the Sungai Buloh district police headquarters to serve two-months’ jail if they fail to pay the fine. Judge Rozilah reprimanded both the accused for blindly following orders, saying that as police personnel, they should be able to think whether the instructions they received from their superiors were against the law or not.

Police cripple trafficking syndicate in Penang, seize drugs worth over RM40,000

BALIK PULAU: A drug trafficking syndicate operating from budget hotels in Bayan Lepas has been crippled after the police arrested nine people and seized drugs worth more than RM40,000. Balik Pulau OCPD Supt A. Anbalagan said the suspects are aged from 17 to 39 years old and were nabbed during series of raids conducted between 11am to 6.30pm on Tuesday (Jan 5). Supt Anbalagan said in the first raid, a team of police from the district Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department (NCID) raided a room at a budget hotel here and found drugs believed to be syabu and heroin. When police barged into the room, four suspects were found and drugs believed to be syabu and heroin were found in packets, he said during a press conference at the district police headquarters on Friday (Jan 8).
