VTC s Posh Purse Palooza returning with fresh new look | Community Giving

WATERTOWN â The Volunteer Transportation Center Inc. has announced the return of its Posh Purse Palooza. This event will take place 5:30 to 7 p.m. May 6 at Garland City Beer Works, 321 Howk St. It will be preceded by an online auction. Posh Purse Palooza, which started in 2015, was canceled last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. âWe were disappointed we werenât able to host this event last year, which is an important fundraiser for the VTC,â Jeremiah S. Papineau, the nonprofit organizationâs Director of Communications and Foundation Director said in a news release. âHowever, we completely understood the gravity of the situation and held out hope we would find ourselves at a point we could host this event again in a way that would be safe during these very different times.â

Volunteers serve Northern New York well

During National Volunteer Week â Sunday, April 18, through Saturday, April 24 â it seems only fitting to thank the volunteers who are the backbone of the Volunteer Transportation Center Inc. For more than 30 years, the Northern New York community has been served well by a core group of more than 250 volunteers who spend hours upon hours each week ensuring our neighbors get where they need to be. Our volunteers use their own vehicles to take folks to medical, dental and mental health appointments as well as for cancer treatment and renal dialysis. In 2020, this added up to more than 200,000 volunteer hours across Jefferson, Lewis, St. Lawrence and Oswego counties; Western New York; the Southern Tier; and New Hampshire, driving more than 4.5 million miles.
