Kincardine Parks and Recreation Director Karen Kieffer says the program comes from the Lake Huron Centre for Coastal Conservation. She says its a stewardship and education program that empowers shoreline residents, providing them with advice, resources and support to protect, conserve and restore Lake Huron’s beach-dune ecosystems and water quality. Kieffer goes on to say the centre performs a one-on-one beach assessment of a residents property and then provides them with a restoration plan, educational signage and a beach care toolkit.
