UNC gets new home in San Fernando, moves away from Central Trinidad

THE United National Congress (UNC) which had its navel string buried in Central Trinidad, has found a new home., this time in the south.
Its new location is the M Rampersad Building at No 2-12 Hilda Lazzari Terrace, Les Efforts East, San Fernando.
This building was one of the party’s regional sub offices where screening for a lot of candidates for both local and general elections took place.
The United National Congress (UNC) has announced its slate of candidates that will be contesting next yearâs local government by-election in the electoral districts of Arima Central, Cunupia, Hollywood, Hindustan/St Maryâs and Morne Coco/Alyce Glen.Â
In a press release on Thursday, the UNC stated that Sheldon Louis Garcia (Arima Central), Richard Gautam Sukdeo (Cunupia), Tylon Dwight Farrell (Hindustan/St. Mary s), Daniel John (Hollywood), and John Laquis (Morne Coco/Alyce Glen), were given the nod after facing the partyâs screening committee headed by Political Leader Kamla Persad Bissessar along with the newly elected National Executive.Â
The party stated that the five candidates were selected from among numerous nominations filed by individuals of impeccable character and across all boundaries, in response to its call for potential candidates. Â
