New 3t EnerMech joint venture secures vital work with UK Government and Mozambique’s oil and gas sector 17 Mar 2021 3t Energy Group and EnerMech, has announced its first award, a significant contract with the UK Government, which will help to shape future training requirements for Mozambique’s growing oil and gas workforce. The newly launched joint venture combines the expertise of integrated solutions specialist provider EnerMech and 3t Energy Group, which owns leading energy sector training organisations 3t Transform, Drilling Systems, Survivex and AIS Training. The alliance will deliver world-leading training and competency solutions encompassing a blend of traditional training, digital learning technologies and training compliance management platforms.

OGTAP opens applications for apprenticeship scheme

© Supplied by OPITO Jill Glennie, OPITO director of external affairs and apprentices Applications for this year’s Oil and Gas Technical Apprenticeship Programme (OGTAP) cohort is now open as Scotland marks National Apprenticeship Week. Led by Aberdeen-based global skills and safety organisation OPITO and the Engineering Construction Industry Training Board (ECITB), the OGTAP scheme was launched in 1999 to create a sustainable pipeline of skilled and competent technicians. Since then, more than 2,000 people have completed the four-year apprenticeship across a number of disciplines from instrument and control, electrical maintenance mechanical maintenance and process operations. Despite the ongoing pandemic, there are currently more than 340 apprentices completing their training through a combination of theoretical, college-based learning and practical learning on worksites and offshore.
