Guest column: Republican leaders, focus on the economy not taking away teacher rights

Guest column: Republican leaders, focus on the economy not taking away teacher rights Your turn First of all, as a school teacher, proud Republican and citizen of Florida I want to sincerely thank our political representatives in Tallahassee for having in-person learning all year! You stepped up and took the lead nationally when many states caved and some states/school districts are still not having in-person learning, which is disgraceful in my opinion. With that said, please focus on getting us back to normal in regards to fighting COVID-19, continuing to get our citizens vaccinated at break-neck speed and keeping our economy open and growing. Please stop with the anti-union legislation and focus on what is most important during this critical time in history.

High court divided on claim woman fired over breastfeeding

Woman s claim of firing over breastfeeding remains dismissed KATHY McCORMACK, Associated Press FacebookTwitterEmail CONCORD, N.H. (AP) The New Hampshire Supreme Court was split 2-2 Friday over a woman s nearly nine-year battle to challenge her firing from the state Department of Health and Human Services over breastfeeding, meaning a lower court s decision to dismiss her case stands. When the court heard the case in January 2020, it lacked a fifth member after its chief justice stepped down the previous summer. Former Attorney General Gordon MacDonald was sworn in as chief justice last week, well over a year after the case was argued.
