'Wanted Wednesdays' at work: Elusive St James man nabbed in St Thomas

He is 31-year-old Sanjae Hodari Nelson, otherwise called ‘Odari’. Nelson was wanted for the murder of 23-year old Lincoln Atkinson in Backwood district, Pimento Hill, St James on September 13, 2016. Reports are that about 5:45 pm, Atkinson was at home when he was pounced upon by armed assailant/s, who opened gunfire, hitting him multiple times. Atkinson was later pronounced dead at hospital. Intensive investigations led to Nelson being later identified as a suspect and subsequently listed as a wanted person in relation to Atkinson’s murder. However, on Tuesday he was handed over to the police by a minister of religion in the parish.

St James cops list persons wanted for major offences in the parish

With an intense focus on tracking down and bringing persons who are wanted by the law in the parish to justice, the St James police have listed a number of such individuals, who are being asked to turn themselves in, this while members of the public are being asked to provide information, where applicable, on the whereabouts of the suspected felons. Only on Monday of this week, the police in the parish reaped success with the capture of a person who was wanted for murder. The development stemmed from the February 5 killing of Marvin Holness at about 9:30 pm. Holness was reportedly fatally shot by a man known as Fabian Morris, otherwise called ‘Killy Killy’.

Power outage to affect close to 50 St Mary communities on Monday

File photo Businesses and residents, including students engaged in online classes, in some sections of St Mary are set to experience inconvenience with their electrical supply on Monday. The Jamaica Public Service Company (JPS) is reporting that residents are to be affected by a disruption to their power supply in order to facilitate critical maintenance work in sections of the parish. The company, in an advisory, stated that the planned outage is required to facilitate vegetation management and the straightening of poles on major lines serving residents. The service disruption is to take place from 8:45 am to 5 pm on Monday, March 15.
