Jamal Murrell had a terrifying few moments Saturday when the car he was working on fell on top of him.
“It was very scary. It only lasted about a minute, but it felt like an hour,” he said.
Murrell and his fiancee were driving along Pinehouse Drive in Saskatoon when the alternator light in their car came on. They pulled over so he could find the problem.
After Murrell jacked up the car to fix it and slid underneath it, the jack slipped, dropping the vehicle on his right leg and pinning him to the ground.
Three bystanders walking by were able to come to Murrell’s rescue and lift the car off of the man.
SASKATOON The City of Saskatoon will be opening numerous summer children s programs for the season starting on Monday. Several youth centres, 47 summer play programs, and the skateboard program will be open, according to city media releases. Each program will have their own age limits, locations and times that they will be open for during the summer.
YOUTH CENTRES Children ages 14 to 16 will able to drop in a three different locations for sports, activities and a place to hangout with friends in an environment that s supervised by leaders. The youth centres are free to attend and will be open from Mondays to Thursdays from 11:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Fridays from 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. until August 19.
