COOLSPRING TOWNSHIP â A 72-year-old woman with dementia was struck and killed by a car Friday night on Route 19 after she wandered away from her home.
Audrey Wheeler, was walking on the road near her home around 8:15 p.m. and was hit by a driver who didnât see her, said Mercer County Coroner John Libonati.
âIt was a dark night,ââ he said.

Wheeler died of blunt force trauma and was pronounced dead at the scene, near Pine Grove Mobile Home Park, Libonati said.
The coroner said Wheeler had a history of dementia and ruled the death as an accident. State police also responded to the call but had no additional information Friday night.
