With a verdict in the trial of Derek Chauvin set to come as early as next week, the city of Minneapolis is already preparing for protests and civil unrest. The plan, which includes nine state and local agencies, called Operation Safety Net, is one of the biggest in the state’s history, likely only trailing the response to the 2007 collapse of the Interstate 35 bridge and the protests after George Floyd died in May.

The first full day of New Hampshire’s Phase 1B COVID-19 vaccinations for people age 65 and up and other eligible people had sites in Dover and Exeter busy Tuesday. There was a steady stream of Seacoast residents getting their first doses and a number of Phase 1A first responders receiving their second doses.

ALBANY - Police had prepared for the worst and hoped for the best, and their hopes were realized when a rumored rally by supporters of President Donald Trump failed to materialize on Sunday.
The barricades were set up and three layers of fences cordoned off the steps to the New York Capitol awaiting a possible repeat of the deadly attack on the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6 but the statehouse area remained quiet, as did statehouses across the Mid-Atlantic states.
