The family of a 13-year-old who fell to his death from Tower Bridge in London have released two pictures of the schoolboy.
Zaheid Ali, a year 8 pupil from Ark Globe academy in Elephant and Castle, south London, was formally identified after his body was recovered from the Thames on 28 April.
Zaheid was said to have been travelling with a friend on a bus but was reported missing by his school’s headteacher on 20 April. It is understood he left the bus near London Bridge, one stop before he would usually get off for his school.
A man died after jumping into the Thames to rescue a woman who fell from London Bridge. Police were called at 12.12am this morning, following reports of a woman in the river close to the bridge. Two men who witnessed her fall entered the river in an effort to save her. While the coastguard and marine units managed to rescue the woman and one of the men, the other remained missing. A body believe to be the missing man was found this morning. His next of kin have been made aware and are being supported by specialist officers. It is the second incident this week where a person has fallen into the Thames near London Bridge.
