Singapore Architect Firm Awarded Contract to Develop Site for Singapore s Urban Farming Initiative
ADX Architects Pte Ltd - an architectural firm based in Singapore, is proud to announce that in association with Nature’s International, they have won a contract to develop a site for Singapore’s urban farming initiative. The Singapore Food Agency (SFA) has launched an initiative to transform the roofs of one of nine multi-storey carparks ear-marked for farming of crops and vegetables. These are rooftops of Housing Board multi-storey carparks, made up of five single sites and two clusters of two sites each.
The project was the result of the Singapore Government’s realization that they need to increase their food production capacity in view of the current battle against COVID-19 that has resulted in lockdowns in various countries throughout the world. This has put Singapore in a difficult spot in view of its 99 percent dependence on imports for its food supply. This is one of the
