Council’s community services committee has recommended portions of two properties on Ski Club Road be rezoned for a proposed residential development, nearly two months after area residents expressed concerns about the potential environmental effects.
The committee, which includes the mayor and all 10 councillors, voted unanimously Tuesday evening to provide its recommendation to council, which will be addressed at a future meeting.

An agreement authorized by North Bay council last fall will see the city pay tens of thousands of dollars to lease a portion of property where Sage Road Park is located.
A copy of the agreement, which The Nugget obtained through freedom of information legislation, shows the city agreed to pay Grand Sierra Investments Ltd. a one-time licence fee of $31,000, a reimbursement of $15,305 in realty taxes and an annual fee of $3,500, subject to a consumer price index increase of at least two per cent, for a term lasting 10 years.
