There are 582 new cases of COVID-19 in British Columbia, according to a release issued by Dr. Bonnie Henry, provincial health officer, and Adrian Dix, minister of health.

Another 582 British Columbians have tested positive for COVID-19, provincial health officials said on Thursday, and an additional 12 people have died.
The updated numbers from Dr. Bonnie Henry, provincial health officer, and health minister Adrian Dix see deaths eclipse 800, with 808 now dead from COVID-19. Total cases increase to 48,609.

Active cases fell to 8,865 on Thursday. Most of these individuals are recovering at home in self-isolation, with 341 being treated in hospital, including 78 in intensive care.
