Support for Victims of Volcano in Saint Vincent

Apr 20, 2021 Support for Victims of Volcano in Saint Vincent As people across the Caribbean monitor the volcanic eruption and evacuations in Saint Vincent, regional companies are assisting victims.  This week, personnel from Sagicor donated supplies to the Saint Vincent and the Grenadines National Emergency Management Organization.  The donated items included mattresses, folding cots, blankets, face masks, water tanks and coolers.  More supplies will be sent from Sagicor personnel in Dominica, Saint Lucia and Barbados in the next few days.  In Belize, the Belize Red Cross is welcoming cash donations and the Government of Belize has pledged one hundred thousand dollars in emergency funds.  Thousands of people have been evacuated from the red zones on the island of Saint Vincent as volcanic activity from La Soufriere has been threatening a number of communities over the past two weeks.
