US passport holders have more international travel options now than at any point during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Total US cases have reached around the 32.9 million mark since the pandemic started, but the rate has been slowing down recently. The United States is one of the world leaders in vaccination rates, particularly among nations with large populations.
After a year of closed borders, the European Union could open in June to fully vaccinated vacationers from countries with low Covid-19 infection rates. But events in other parts of the world cast a shadow over the improving US outlook.
Entry Requirements for Hong Kong travellers: Travellers must be fully vaccinated or recovered from Covid-19 to skip mandatory testing and quarantine requirements.
Non-vaccinated travellers need to present a negative Covid test taken no more than 72 hours prior to departure and self-isolate for 10 days.
Quarantine Requirements: None, if fully vaccinated. 10 days self-isolation for non-vaccinated travellers
Visa Requirements: None
Beginning from May 14, Germany now allows vaccinated travellers to skip quarantine and testing requirements. The NHS app will be ready to be used as a digital vaccine passport in time for passengers to go on their summer holidays from May 17, Transport Secretary Grant Shapps confirmed on May 7.
NHSX, the digital arm of the service, is racing to enable the app to be used by holidaymakers to prove that they are fully vaccinated when they arrive at their destination once the ban on travel is lifted from May 17, allowing them to sidestep quarantine or further testing.
