Private schools must use NCERT books, orders Edu Directorate

Ambala, May 10 While parents have hailed a recent order issued by the Directorate, School Education, Haryana, asking private schools to ensure that only NCERT books are used, the private schools have decided to challenge the order in the Punjab and Haryana High Court. Ajay Gupta, president, Parents Welfare Association, Ambala, said, “Several schools recommend particular books, available at selected shops, to students that were being sold at exorbitant rates due to the nexus between the school authorities and private publishers. Plea to put off result of MBBS second-round counselling

‘HC likely rule on petition on wrong allotment’ The Pondicherry State Students and Parents’ Welfare Association has demanded that the publication of the result of the second round of counselling for admission to MBBS be deferred until the Madras High Court ruled on a petition against the Medical Counselling Committee on a wrong allotment of seats at JIPMER. In a memorandum to Lt. Governor Kiran Bedi, association president V. Bala Balasubramanian said the petition was likely to be taken up for orders in a day or two.
