Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon signed House Bill 07 into law on Tuesday, legislation which aims to allow air ambulance membership services to resume in Wyoming. The legislation seeks to reverse aspects of a bill they passed in 2019 which classified air ambulance membership subscription plans as disability insurance. That classification required air ambulance service providers to register with the Wyoming Department of Insurance in order to operate in the state, as required of insurance providers under Wyoming Statue 26-3-101.

Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon signed Senate File 34 into law, a bill with the catch-title “Born alive infant-means of care.” The bill will update Wyoming’s abortion law effective July 1. The previous law and the new law can be compared as follows Article continues below. Statute before the changes: “The commonly accepted means of care shall be employed in the treatment of any viable infant aborted alive with any chance of survival.” New law: “The commonly accepted means of care that would be rendered to any other infant born alive shall be employed in the treatment of any viable infant aborted alive. Any physician performing an abortion shall take medically appropriate and reasonable steps to preserve the life and health of an infant born alive.”

The Wyoming Senate is working to formally protest President Joe Biden administration’s oil and gas policies. They passed Senate Joint Resolution 03 on first reading on Thursday which aims to send a message to the Biden administration that orders suspending oil and gas development negatively impact Wyoming. Whether resolutions have any impact was a matter of debate. “I’m not a big fan of resolutions,” Sen. Ed Cooper (Big Horn, Fremont, Hot Springs, Park, Washakie County) said. “I think the net result of them is usually to inform the person on the other end that we have removed them from our Christmas card list. But this one is important.”
