IPOH, March 17 Kampar MP Thomas Su has urged DAP’s central executive committee (CEC) to give him an opportunity to explain his vocal objection which caused a ruckus at the state party election last Sunday.
Su said the CEC should take necessary action to investigate the matter.
“Firstly, I would like to be given an opportunity to explain the events that led to my vocal objections which I have now come to know, has caused some controversy over the social media.
IPOH: Perak DAP will continue to be led by Nga Kor Ming as chairman with his team making a clean sweep in the state party polls.
Nga, the Teluk Intan MP who is the party’s deputy secretary-general, and 14 others in his team polled more than 1,100 votes each.
Kampar MP Thomas Su, who is the national party assistant organising secretary, got only 550 votes.
Nga and fellow deputy secretary-general V. Sivakumar, who is Batu Gajah MP, both polled highest with 1,228 votes.
Sivakumar was re-appointed state party deputy chief.
The results were announced by national DAP Youth deputy chief Chiong Yoke Kong, who was the returning officer for the polls held during the 19th Perak DAP convention here yesterday.

IPOH, March 15 Despite a challenge mounted by Thomas Su and M. Kulasegaran, the results of the Perak DAP polls yesterday were not surprising.

The DAP national organising secretary added that the election process at all levels in the DAP is conducted transparently without favouring any individuals. The commotion reported at the state convention is much regretted and such things should never happen at any DAP conference. I would like to emphasise that party elections at all levels are always conducted transparently, without favouring any particular individual, the Seremban MP said Monday (March 15).
It was reported that a ruckus broke out at the 19th Perak DAP convention when Kampar MP Thomas Su alleged others were obtaining an unfair advantage for the state party polls.

IPOH, Mar 14 Perak DAP chairman Nga Kor Ming today urged the Pakatan Harapan (PH) presidential council to allow the party to contest eight parliamentary seats and 20 state seats in the 15th general election.
Nga said this was to win back the state government which he claimed was stolen from the Perak PH coalition.
“We hope and request Perak Amanah chairman Datuk Asmuni Awi and Perak PKR chairman Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak will give away the requested seats to allow us to contest in the next general election and win back the government.
