Fish, watersheds focus of Marion Elementary event

D A R E , SEEDS programing impacted by pandemic

The current school year has been full of significant changes for staff, students and their families. Virtual learning, different schedules, canceled events and limited outside interaction have all been part of the landscape. What that has meant is volunteers, assemblies, and other events have not been part of the typical school day or after school. For programs like D.A.R.E. or SEEDS After School, the pandemic has meant altering what they do or stopping altogether due to safety protocols at the school to limit student and staff exposure to outside sources. Wexford County D.A.R.E. officer Cory Lipar said the sheriffâs office is still doing its due diligence within all the countyâs school districts whenever possible, but as far as getting into the classrooms that has not happened.

Benzie Central band going ahead with winter concert

Benzie Central band going ahead with winter concert Feb. 10, 2021 FacebookTwitterEmail BENZONIA Benzie Central Schools band students will still be putting on a performance in person for close friends and family. Benzie s winter band concert will be held on Feb. 18, with separate performances from each band. The sixth-grade band will be performing at 6 p.m., the middle school band will be performing at 7 p.m. and the high school symphonic band will be performing at 8 p.m. Doors will be open 20 minutes prior to each performance. Each performance will be streamed live on the Benzie Central Middle and High School Facebook pages.
