Washington County libraries mull reopening plans
Some libraries have started to offer limited indoor services, but planning varies between library operators.
As indoor spaces open gradually after Washington County was recently placed in the moderate category of risk regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, libraries throughout Washington County are discussing plans of expanding services before an eventual full reopening at some point.
While the latter isn t expected to happen anytime soon, libraries in the Washington County Cooperative Library Services are all allowing curbside pickup of materials with a handful permitting limited indoor browsing. Warm Safe Home exhibition is ending soon
There are less than two weeks left to visit the Warm Safe Home exhibition at the Geelong Library & Heritage Centre.
Artists, seniors, children and other community members have their paper houses on display for the Warm Safe Home exhibition to educate and raise awareness of the signs and impacts of elder abuse.
The exhibition highlights the importance of the rights of the elderly to be protected from physical, social, financial, psychological, and sexual abuse, neglect or mistreatment.
The City partnered with the Barwon Elder Abuse Primary Prevention Network to fund the project through Seniors Month in October and Geelong Regional Library Corporation to host the exhibition.
