Southampton-based Midwife nominated for the Hampshire Heroes Awards 2021 Megan Rayner, a Southampton-based midwife, nominated for the Hampshire Heroes Awards 2021. Megan was nominated by Beth George when she came to the rescue after Beth was separated from her baby, Remy. Remy was transferred to a different hospital for surgery for a life-threatening defect. Remy was born with malrotation of the bowel which can cause blockages. The day-old baby was transferred to Southampton’s Princess Anne Hospital for treatment. Due to the pandemic, Salisbury mother, Beth, was unable to see her child and had to consent to the surgery whilst not there. ....
Pentagon delayed by 6 months submitting rule to pay out claims Military services to be ready by June to process malpractice claims April 1, 2021 2:33 PM By Roxana Tiron The Defense Departmentâs general counsel has instructed U.S. military services to be ready by June to process medical malpractice claims that have languished for more than a year. Congress in December 2019 eased the seven-decade ban on troops or their families seeking compensation for injury or death at the hand of military hospitals. Since then, troops have filed $2.16 billion in medical malpractice claims under a law (Public Law 116-92) that required a system of compensation for victims. The total represents 227 cases that have yet to be adjudicated. ....
