By: Dayle Da Silva• The state followed the law in acquiring the properties in Bentick Square, Kingstown, that have been demolished to make way for the construction of storage facilities to serve the Laboratory and related specialized services, at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital (MCMH).  According to Senator Julian Francis, Minister of Urban Development, Energy, Airports, Seaports, Grenadines Affairs and Local Government, the controversy that arose as a result of claims made by relatives of the owner(s) of one of the structures demolished, was manufactured.”

Storage facilities coming Health Minister St. Clair Prince highlighted the need for proper storage of COVID-19 related material and plans to provide same. By: Dayle Da Silva• Construction of storage facilities, specifically for items to be used in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic, is expected to be constructed soon. This will be funded from a sum of EC$326,000 that government has allocated to providing infrastructural support, as part of the COVID-19 response in 2021.   According to St Clair ‘Jimmy’ Prince, Minister of Health, there was not sufficient space to efficiently store and manage the COVID-19 and Health Disaster Unit supplies.
