Wicked Local
Pole capping, and now peace poles, it seems like Bedford is finding a theme for its outdoor eye-catching art and living history.
After the news of a car accident that knocked down the current Peace Pole on Great Road was announced by a member of the Bedford MA Today Facebook page on Saturday, July 17, residents questioned what the pole was and if it would be replaced. The answer was a Peace Pole installed by Bedford Hanscom Girl Scout Troop 7209.
According to the town and the group the Great Road pole was picked up by members of the Bedford Department of Public Works and will be reinstalled in the coming weeks. Four news polls by local artists will be created and installed by the end of the summer and into the early autumn.
