Over $36 billion in federal emergency relief funds will be allocated to 5,000 colleges and universities across the country – including 60 institutions in Michigan – in an effort to support students who have been hit the hardest by the coronavirus pandemic.
The emergency funding, provided through the $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan, will target vulnerable college students who need it the most, including those at under-resourced institutions like community colleges, Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and minority-serving institutions.
