Two paddleboarders blown out to sea assisted back to shore by Bundoran RNLI Bundoran RNLI at the scene yesterday near Mullaghmore Reporter: );   ); Two paddleboarders blown out to sea off Mermaid’s Cove in County Sligo yesterday evening were assisted back to safety by members of the Bundoran RNLI volunteer crew.    The 999 call was made to Malin Head Coast Guard just after 6pm who immediately paged the Bundoran RNLI volunteers. At 6.11pm, the Bundoran Lifeboat “William Henry Liddington” set off for the scene with 4 crew on board and made their way to Mermaid’s Cove, arriving less than ten minutes later. The Sligo based Rescue 118 helicopter was also tasked.

The 999 call was made to Malin Head Coast Guard just after 6pm who immediately paged the Bundoran RNLI volunteers. Advertisement Bundoran RNLI launched to assist man trapped on rocks Posted: 2:30 pm December 21, 2020 SHARE A man aboard a small boat which ran aground on rocks off Inis Saimer island in Ballyshannon was rescued yesterday by volunteers from Bundoran RNLI with assistance from officers from Inland Fisheries Ireland. The first call for help came from the man on the boat who had placed an emergency call to the Irish Coast Guard at Malin Head just before 1pm. The lifeboat was immediately requested to launch as was the Sligo based Rescue 118 helicopter. On examination of the situation, it was determined, that due to sea conditions, it would be unsafe for the lifeboat to launch and try get across the bar at the end of the Erne Estuary. Subsequently four volunteer crew made their way by road to a fisheries boat, helmed by one of their officers, which was already at the Mall Pier in Ballyshannon approximately 50 metres from the casualty vessel.

A man was rescued from the Erne Estuary after his boat ran aground on rocks yesterday afternoon. He was rescued by volunteers from Bundoran RNLI with assistance from officers from Inland Fisheries Ireland. The first call for help came from the man on the boat who had placed an emergency call to the Irish Coast Guard at Malin Head just before 1pm. The lifeboat was immediately requested to launch as was the Sligo based Rescue 118 helicopter.
