Natural cave of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Ji opens for darshans
In the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, the natural cave of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Ji has been opened for Darshans for the devotees since Makar Sankranti, reports All India Radio. Since then a large number of pilgrims have performed Darshans via the natural Cave, by strictly following the social distancing norms and other precautionary measures with regard to COVID-19. Worth to mention that every year the natural Cave is opened for pilgrims on the auspicious occasion of Makar Sankranti amidst chanting of Vedic Mantras and performing other rituals.

The Lieutenant Governor said, The facility will be of immense help to the devotees worldwide, as their queries and grievances can be addressed with information on a real-time basis.
The call centre is likely to provide great help to pilgrims for planning the visit keeping prevailing weather conditions, yatra status, availability of helicopter services, battery-operated vehicles, accommodation and other aspects at any given point of time in mind.
The Call Centre also has SMS, outbound services and e-mail services for the convenience of the devotees.

JAMMU: Even as the pilgrimage to the world famous Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine was disrupted for five months from the period of mid of March to mid of August, nearly 17 lakh pilgrims paid obeisance at the Bhawan situated in Trikuta Hills of mountainous Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir.
The pilgrimage for the first time in the history was stopped on March 18, 2020 in view of COVID pandemic and by this time, 12,52,734 pilgrims had paid obeisance at the cave shrine.
In the month of January, 5,12,569, in February 3,96,683 and from 1 to 18 March, 3,43,482 pilgrims visited to the cave shrine and offered prayers but thereafter the yatra was immediately stopped in view of COVID pandemic, which forced Centre announce countrywide lockdown.
