Jacksonville theatrical producer Ian Mairs has two holiday projects on tap, one live and one virtual.
At the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall, he s putting on a youth production of A Christmas Story. At the Florida Theatre, he s resurrecting a local favorite, Swamp Radio, for a virtual fundraiser to help displaced theater workers.
You can actually go see Ralphie and his relentless quest for a Red Ryder air rifle. Apex Theatre Studio, a World Golf Village-based group that trains young artists, is putting on Jean Shepherd s holiday favorite three times at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2:30 p.m. Sunday. Seating is limited to 25 percent capacity, or about 100 people for each performance. Performers on stage will be wearing masks for most of the show. ....

Daily through Jan. 31, 2021: The City of St. Augustine glows with more than 3 million white lights during the 27th annual Nights of Lights an event that was recognized by National Geographic as one of the Top 10 light displays in the world. The lights come on at sunset every evening. There are many options for viewing the lights, including driving through in your own vehicle (we recommend weeknights, and in January, for less traffic congestion). From trolley rides, by helicopter, on boat tours, horse-and-carriage rides, pub crawls and food tours see the city in many ways, all lit up during the holiday season.
