A water boil order has been issued for residents at the Winwood Apartments in Johnston.
An 8-inch private water main was struck during construction within the apartment complex at the 6100 Block of Meadow Crest Drive, according to a news release.
There s a potential for bacterial contamination, according to the release, and the Johnston Public Works Department recommends that customers either boil water before using it for drinking and cooking or use an alternative source of water.
It is recommended to bring all water to a boil, let it boil for one minute, and let it cool before using, the release said, or use bottled water.
