A Daytona Beach, Fla., man is facing up to 30 years in prison after being convicted this week of vandalizing vehicles belonging to an Asian American family with racial slurs.
What he did: Kyle Christiansen, 34, spray-painted two of the family’s vehicles and placed nails in their driveway on July 29, 2020.
The vehicles, which were parked at the family’s home in New Smyrna Beach, were a black pickup truck owned by a male family member and a gray Honda sedan owned by his sister-in-law. ....

Second Body Found This Week In Volusia County

Daytona Beach, FL -  Daytona Beach Police (DBPD) are working to find what led to the death of a man found in Tuscawilla Park yesterday (June 9) morning. Department spokesperson Messod Bendayan said the man was found around 7:20 a.m. face down on the ground near the zip line office building. Paramedics pronounced the man dead at the scene. Bendayan said at this time, the investigation does not indicate foul play. The man is reported to be in his early 40s and DBPD is trying to notify the man’s family. They are waiting on toxicology and autopsy results. Earlier this week, on Sunday, New Smyrna Beach Police (NSBPD) were dispatched to the pond behind the 1900 block of Jungle Road. The man found floating in the pond is identified as 63-year-old Clarence Vitalis. The case is still under investigation at this time, pending toxicology results and the medical examiner’s report. A human skull was found near the bike path by a hiker at Gemini Springs ....

New Smyrna Beach, FL – New Smyrna Beach Police (NSBPD) issued a Be On The Lookout for 43-year-old Issac Newburry in reference to a road-rage incident about a week ago. On Saturday afternoon, June 5, he was arrested. NSBPD Issues BOLO For Armed & Dangerous Man Newburry is charged with Aggravated Battery, Discharging a Firearm from a Vehicle, Possession of Firearm by Convicted In-State Felon, Posession of Ammunition by a Convicted In-State Felon, and Criminal Mischief. His bond was set at $45,000. He has since bonded out.

NSBPD Issues BOLO For Armed & Dangerous Man

New Smyrna Beach, FL – New Smyrna Beach Police (NSBPD) are looking for 43-year-old Issac Newburry in connection to a road rage incident on Sunday, May 30.  Police responded to U.S. 1 near Spruce Creek Preserve around 6 p.m. The victim told them that the man fired a gun at the victim’s occupied vehicle, then left the area.  Investigators found the suspect’s unoccupied vehicle and were able to identify the suspect as Newburry. His most recent address is in Edgewater. They are asking anyone who knows his whereabouts or sees him to contact local law enforcement, as he’s considered to be armed and dangerous.
